Event website compliant with the European Accessibility Act Learn how idloom’s event platform stays fully compliant with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), offering accessible registration, WCAG-aligned design and inclusive experiences for all attendees.

Accessibility isn't a feature. It's at the heart of idloom.

Imagine logging on an event website, excited to register — only to find that the form doesn't work with your screen reader. Or that you can't navigate without a mouse. Or that zooming in makes half the content disappear. For millions of people, this isn't a hypothetical scenario. It's an everyday barrier that turns excitement into frustration.

At idloom, we believe events are for everyone. Great events bring people together and make everyone feel included and welcomed. For that to happen, events have to be inclusive and adapted to everyone's needs. This is why accessibility is a deciding factor in how we design, test, and improve our software.

Why accessibility matters

The European Accessibility Act is transforming how digital services must operate by June 2025. Event platforms, just like banks or online shops, are now required to offer experiences accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive impairments.

For event organisers using idloom, this means two important things: first, you can confidently meet these regulatory requirements. Second, and more importantly, every single one of your attendees can register, navigate, and interact with your event without barriers.

Our commitment: The VPAT® Report

We've just published our Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT®): a comprehensive assessment of how idloom measures up to the EN 301 549 standards and WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

This report might seem like a compliance checkbox, but it's really proof of our ongoing commitment to inclusive design.

What this means for your attendees

Our conformance report confirms the following accessibility features:

  • Full support for non-text content. Every image, icon, and button includes descriptive alt text, so assistive technologies like screen readers can interpret and present content properly. Thanks to this feature, an attendee using a screen reader experiences the same information as someone viewing the page visually.
  • Keyboard-first design. Registration forms and all navigation can be completed without a mouse. Whether you use adaptive technology, prefer keyboard shortcuts, or have limited motor control, you’ll never be forced to use a mouse to complete essential tasks.
  • Clear, consistent structure. Headings, labels, and page layouts are designed to make sense both visually and when read aloud by screen readers. This means attendees can quickly scan and navigate content in the way that works best for them.
  • Zoom without barriers. Pages adapt perfectly to different screen sizes and up to 200% zoom without losing any content or functionality. Need larger text? No problem, everything remains accessible and usable.
  • Safe, simple commands. Registration is HTTPS-encrypted for security, error messages are clearly flagged with suggestions for fixing them, and any potentially destructive actions (like cancelling a registration) come with confirmation prompts.

The bottom line: Whether you need a screen reader, keyboard navigation, adjusted text spacing, higher zoom levels, or any other accommodation, idloom puts you in control of your experience.

Our promise going forward

Standards for accessibility continue to evolve, and so do we. While this VPAT marks an important milestone, we know there's always room for improvement. We're committed to continuous testing, regular updates, and above all else, listening to the diverse community of organisers and attendees who trust idloom.

Because inclusion isn't only about compliance. For us, it's about respect. It's about recognizing that accessibility benefits everyone: people with temporary injuries, aging users, and anyone who simply wants a better, more flexible experience.
